Milestones :)

This has been a big week for Chloe! On Wednesday she laughed for the first time. It was a real laugh, not just a smile and some noise. I have never heard a more precious sound. Then, today she rolled over!! I had her on her stomach, on my bed while I was brushing my teeth. When I turned to pick her up and she was on her back!!! Then, later, I put her on the floor (on her stomach) and within 10 seconds, she rolled over - this time I saw it!!
She's just growing so fast - I love it. She will be eating the mushed up food within the next month!! I'm so sad that I have to miss some things while I'm at work, but when I spend time with her, I can tell she knows that I am her mommy - no one else. I feel like she has been a part of me for my entire life. If she was the only child I was able to have, I think I would be ok. Besides, I can't imagine making a cuter baby :)

4-wheeling

We went 4-wheeling a couple weeks ago and it was just so pretty! We left Chloe with Shane's mom and went up Hobble Creek Canyon. I haven't been 4-wheeling sice high school.... and I forgot how fun it is!!
I figured out how to make my camera take cool shots so here are a few that I got - mostly flowers and nature stuff.... So I'm sorry if that bores you!
We were just riding down the road and then came around the bend to see this. It was just so pretty so we found a road down to see it all up close.

They had these little blue flowers everywhere. This picture reminds me of a desktop background...

I saw a whloe in a tree and just stuck my camera up inside and took a shot. This is what came out - and I think it's awesome.

Is this not the prettiest beetle you have ever seen???

This deer was just walking down below us. She seriously waited until I had taken the picture before she walked away. It was a good 2 minutes of both of us just staring back and forth!!

K - this is a caterpillar... nest? They had just hatched and were all squirming out. There were literally hundreds of these nests.... It was one of the coolest things I saw that day :)

SO! We got Chloe's ears pierced this weekend!! I have to admit, she did not like being held down or any of that, but she only screamed for about 5 minutes. She just looks so dang cute with them in. You can't really see them in this picture. She kept turning her head when I was trying to get the pic, the little stinker...

Global Warming - Riiiiight.....

So every once in a while I have to just gripe about something. Today it will be Global Warming. Who are these people trying to kid??? Has the earth not gone through millions of years of climate changes?? I just can't see how people can buy into that. I'm sorry if you are a firm believer in it - but give me a break. This last winter has been one of the coldest in YEARS - but the earth is just becoming a giant fireball, right?

And what's with this "Let's be GREEN" crap?? Come on! Not only is it way more expesive [who cares if you 'make it up' over time] it is so impractical. Who has time to wait for their car battery to charge? What happens when your solar panels don't get enough sunlight to power your house?

Don't get me wrong - I'm all for conserving energy and recylcing, but for totally different reasons than most people.

Anyway, I just had to get that out there. People need to be more concerned about keeping their families together and having happy home lives and less concered with their stupid electric cars and all that other stuff. I've said my say :)

Bring your baby to work week....

So I get to spend more time with Chloe this week! Shane's Mom is at Girls' camp so obviously she can't watch Chloe. We were really in a bind. Well... my supervisor graciously said I could bring Chloe in during the early morning hours (I work from 6AM to 3PM). So I get up about 45 minutes earlier and get here at 5:20 to make sure she eats before I start having to really work.

So after she is fed, I put her on a blanket on the ground and she just watches me work for about an hour until she falls asleep. She just smiles, giggles, and kicks her little legs around.

At about 8, when everyone starts to get to work, I take an early lunch and drive Chloe up to Joan's (my sister) in American Fork. She is watching Chloe this week (thank goodness!!)

I have to say that I really loved having her with me just a little more this week. She's such a cute and sweet little baby. Someday.....

Shots :(

Well, Chloe had her 2-month appt yesterday (a little late....). She had to get her shots and it was so sad!! She was so happy and giggly while the doctor was examining her. Then the nurses came in - still happy - then POKE! I have never heard the little one scream so loud... But after just a few short minutes of crying, she calmed down and fell asleep. She's such a tough baby girl. But she is growing so much! Already 11 lbs, 14 oz. 22 1/2 inches! She's going to be taller than my by the time she's 10.....Now we can get her ears pierced!!!!!!!

Baby weight...

So I was really worried about being fat for the rest of my life... I gained about 25 lbs during my pregnancy. BUT - I have lost ALL of it!! I still have a long way to go to get down to my ideal weight, but at least I don't have to tack on that extra 25 lbs anymore :) I just wanted to share my excitement.

And baby makes 3...

I had Chloe by cesarean section on March 18, 2008. The little punk was breech and backwards. Then, because the hospital was SO busy with birthing mommies, I didn't get moved downstairs for 3 hours. They kept waiting to bring her in until I was moved, but that was taking way too long so they FINALLY brought her in, right before they moved me. Fortunately, Shane was able to be with her that entire time, and documented her first bath!
I have to say that I was so paranoid about having an ugly baby - yeah yeah, I'd love her no matter what, but still!! Well, my mind was put at ease when I held that little bundle. She was just a doll. She had a little yellow ribbon stuck to her head and was wearing a onsie that was 2 sizes too big. I just couldn't get enough!

I spent 3 days in the hospital and had so many people come and see us. Well really, they came for Chloe... But everyone just loved her :)

About us

We were married on April 29, 2006 in the St. George, UT Temple. It was a beautiful day and we had everyone we love there to support us. Our first year of marriage was full of changes, big and small: we adopted 3 adorable pets - 2 dogs and a cat; we bought a house in Springville, UT - to name a few.

During our second year, we had a beautiful, tiny baby girl that we named Chloe. She is, without a doubt, the cutest baby I have ever seen! It has definitely taken some getting used to, but at this point, I feel like I have been a mommy for my entire life.

We can't wait to experience what the future has in store!!
